Yolanda Keith

Yolanda Keith is from Burgaw, North Carolina. She has an Associate of Arts degree in Business Education from Cape Fear Community College, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master’s of Public Administration from North Carolina Central University.

She has served as program director of the Carolina College Advising Corps and as a senior assistant director of Undergraduate Admissions at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill since 2010. In her role, she strives to bridge the gap between secondary and post-secondary institutions through collaboration, sharing of knowledge, and community engagement. Prior to her current role, she work with the national office of the College Advising Corps supporting operations and budgeting. Yolanda is committed to public service, college access, and serving disadvantaged communities.

Eric Andrew Smith is from Bullock, North Carolina. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is near completion of his Master’s of Education in School Counseling from Cambridge College.

He served as an adviser with the Carolina College Advising Corps from 2010 to 2012 at Bertie High School and Hertford County High School. After serving as a College Adviser, he worked as the Scholarship Coordinator at Scotland High School. Since 2013, Eric has served as an assistant program director for the Carolina College Advising Corps. In his role, he seeks to challenge and empower current advisers to be the needed resource of the students and families that they serve, to not leave one student untouched, and to welcome personal growth throughout this process.

Michael Dyson is from Kannapolis, North Carolina. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

He served as an adviser with the Carolina College Advising Corps from 2013 to 2015 at Eastern Randolph High School and Asheboro High School. After serving as a college adviser, he worked at North Carolina State University in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Currently, Michael serves as one of the assistant program directors for the Carolina College Advising Corps, and is excited to help train and support advisers as they change the landscape of higher education in North Carolina.

Emily Simpson is from Waxhaw, North Carolina. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Political Science with a minor in Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work through the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Emily is joining the leadership team as an assistant program director after serving as an adviser with the Carolina College Advising Corps from 2014 to 2017 at North Surry High School and Mount Airy High School in Surry County, North Carolina. She is grateful for the opportunity to continue serving students and families across North Carolina by training and supporting passionate college advisers.


Adreonna Simmons

Adreonna Simmons is from Dover, North Carolina. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a minor in Social and Economic Justice from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is currently pursuing a Master of Library Science at North Carolina Central University.

Adreonna is joining the team as the special projects manager after serving as an adviser with the Carolina College Advising Corps from 2015 to 2017 at Bertie High School and Hertford County High School. She is excited to continue serving the Corps in a new role and supporting our advisers.
