Staff members will review applicant materials and will inform all applicants if they have been invited to the panel interview.
Panel interviews will be held in early February. The selected applicants will be interviewed for 30 minutes by a panel of 4-5 individuals, made up of Carolina Corps staff members and staff members from partner campus departments.
At the conclusion of the week, panelists will decide which applicants should be invited to the “Meet and Greet,” which is the final round of interviews in the selection process. Program staff will inform all interviewees if they have been invited to the “Meet and Greet” no later than February 11, 2017. All applicants that were selected for an interview should go ahead and block this time off on their schedules in case they receive an invitation to move forward with the interview process.
Tent: January 30 – February 10, 2017
Meet and Greet
The Meet and Greet will be held in mid to late February and is the final step in our interview process. Those invited to the Meet and Greet will interview, in pairs of two, with partner high schools who are in need of an adviser for the upcoming year. Each interview will last roughly 10-15 minutes. Applicants will be given the list of schools who will be interviewing them ahead of time, to allow for preparation.
At the end of the event, applicants will list their top five school choices and schools will list their top five applicant choices. Advisers are placed through this matching process.
Tent: February 22, 2017, by invitation only
Staff members will review all applicant and partner school preferences and will notify all applicants if they will be offered a placement and where.
Tent: By March 10, 2017
New Adviser Shadowing
New advisers will shadow the advisers they are replacing for a mutually agreed upon two-day period during the month of May. Prior to the visit both the new and non-returning adviser will receive important topics to discuss, and materials to help guide the visit. The shadowing experience is integral to ensuring Carolina Corps continuity within the partner high school(s) and significantly eases transition for the new adviser.
By the end of the high school academic year.
Housing will be provided for advisers during Summer Training. Summer Training dates for 2016-2017 will be announced in spring of 2016, but will take place in early July through early August. Summer training is required.
Tent: July 2- August 4, 2017
Note: Please be aware that any and/or all dates are subject to change at the discretion of program staff. If dates are changed, adequate notice will be provided to all parties.
